OnePlus 6 Leaks

OnePlus, a Shenzen based Chinese smartphone company founded by Pete Lau (CEO) in October 2013 has a history of coming up with a smartphone every year that can be rightfully called a flagship killer smartphone at a reasonable price. Today we will discuss all the leaks and rumours surrounding the much awaited OnePlus 6 - the flagship device by OnePlus in 2018.

OnePlus 6 benchmarks and leaked images

Last year, OnePlus launched it's flagship device for 2017 which was the OnePlus 5 but much to the surprise of OnePlus fans, the company soon unveiled another device which was kind of an upgrade to the already launched OnePlus 5 and this was called the OnePlus 5T. OnePlus 5T was just slighly different from it's predecessor as it had a modern design with thin bezels along with some re-positioning of the fingerprint sensor and some software improvements like the Face Unlock.

Highlights -
  • Notch design at the top
  • 19:9 aspect ratio screen
  • Snapdragon 845 chipset along with 8GB RAM

OnePlus 5T is still a very good smartphone in the price range but it's 2018 and just like it has been in the past OnePlus will be launching a new device this year too - OnePlus 6. We expect that the device will yet again live up to the hype and that is evident from the leaks that have surfaced recently.

The leaks suggest that the OnePlus 6 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and might pack along a massive 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. This makes OP6 one of the few smartphones in 2018 that are powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.

The leaked images also show that the device is an absolute beast when it comes to performance with an AnTuTu benchmark score of about 276,000. OnePlus 6 also beats Xiaomi's Mi Mix 2S that is expected to be launched on 27th March this year.

If the theory of OnePlus turning Oppo R series devices into their own flagships is to be believed then the leaked images of the Oppo R15, which is believed to be smartphone that will turn out to be the OnePlus 6 show an Apple iPhone X like design with a notch at the top. The display thus will be a 19:9 aspect ratio one. Google has also released a developer preview of their latest Android P, which confirms the support for notch natively.

So, in total OnePlus 6 seems to be yet another android smartphone that will feature a notch design with all the expected top of the line hardware. Will OnePlus be able to deliver a top 'notch' flagship killer this time too? Well, we have to wait to know but until then, what do you believe is the most wanted feature in the OnePlus 6.
