The leading Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has recently shocked the world in CES 2018, where they announced their first and also the world's first smartphone to feature an under-display fingerprint sensor. Although, the smartphone didn't have any name or release date back in the CES but as of now Vivo has announced some of the details.
The smartphone which will be named as Vivo X20 Plus UD, did recently showed up on TENNA but now Vivo has offficially announced that the Vivo X20 Plus UD will be released soon.
We don't know for sure whether the "UD" in the Vivo X20 Plus UD stands for "under-display" but that's a speculation that majority of the people would make and probably could be the thought behind the name. Apart from the major USP of the smartphone - the under-display fingerprint sensor there are a quite bit interesting specs that one could expect from a flagship level android device.
The main specifications for the Vivo X20 Plus UD are -
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 660
- 6.43-inch SuperAMOLED display (2,160x1,080 pixels)
- Dual 12-megapixel rear camera, 12-megapixel front camera
- 4GB RAM, 128GB storage
- 3,905mAh embedded battery
The new under-display fingerprint technology is sure to change the unlocking experience of smartphone users as now they would just need to place their finger on the screen like they usually do to touch the screen and bang the phone would be unlocked. Now the hype has increased further with giants like Samsung and LG who are expected to make use of the under-display fingerprint technology in their upcoming flagships that it will be announcing in the MWC 2018.
