WhatsApp stickers not working? How to enable Whatsapp stickers?

WhatsApp recently rolled out a new update which brings in a bunch of new exciting features in what is perhaps the most popular instant messaging application in the world. The latest update brings in some of the most awaited features which are -

• Right swipe to reply
• Yes, gone are the days when you needed to long press a message, then go all the way up to the title bar, tap on the reply button and then start typing your message, All this just for replying to a certain message. It's damn simple now! Just swipe right on the message that you want to reply to and you are good to go!

• Stickers are finally here!
• Many users have had complaints that they cannot use stickers on WhatsApp, while other apps such as Hike and Line (to name a few) have supported stickers for ages now. It seems folks at WhatsApp have not turned deaf to their users as they now bring to you all support for stickers.

Although we have not experienced any problem with any of the above mentioned features on our devices, but we have heard users complaint about the problem that they are not able to use WhatsApp Stickers on their smartphone. After reading through a lot of user complaints over the internet, we came up with these potential reasons for the anomaly and of course we have solutions too!

So, without wasting much time, lets get straight into it!

WhatsApp not updated!

You are seeing that "unsupported message" message because your device does not support whatsapp stickers and that is simply because you have not updated your whatsapp. This is perhaps the most common reason of why whatsapp stickers are not working on your device.

The solution to this problem is also fairly simple, all you need to do is just open Google Play Store and search WhatsApp and then tap on update button, and you are done for good.

Your device does not suppport WhatsApp Stickers

Yes, there is a possibility that your device does not support whatsapp stickers and that is why even though you have updated your whatsapp to the latest version available for your device, your stickers will still not work.

There is a workaround for this too! First, you need to check which version of whatsapp are you using. For this go to settings, then help and then tap on "app info". If you are using any version above 2.18.329 then you are good, your stickers will work straight away. But, if you are not and you have updated your whatsapp to the latest version from playstore then, you need to download the apk file of that version from some third party source. Just look for it on Google!

Install the version above 2.18.329 and you will now see that your device will now also support whatsapp stickers.

How to use WhatsApp stickers?

Now that you have updated your whatsapp, you can now send stickers to your friends easily by following the below mentioned steps - 

1. Tap on the message box
2. Tap on the emoji button on the left,
3. At the bottom of the emoji panel, you will see three more images - emoji, gif and stickers.
4. Tap on the last one - Sticker.
5. Select the sticker you want and send it to your friends.
