Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 - The All Rounder smartphone and the successor to the very successful Redmi Note 4 is set to be announced this valentine i.e. on 14th February 2018. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was one of the most successful redmi devices to have ever been released by the company. It was a budget oriented smartphone which featured some top of the line specification in a very affordable price of around $200. The Redmi Note 4 was so successful that it became the number one selling smartphone in India.
Now after almost a year, Xiaomi is all set to again capture the throne for the budget segment with it's Redmi Note 5. The device will be launched on 14th February 2018. Xiaomi has tied up with Flipkart for the flash sale of Redmi Note 5. Apart from Flipkart, users can also order their device from Xiaomi's own mi.com. While the Redmi Note 5 will not be available in the offline retail markets on the day of its launch but we are expecting that Xiaomi will make it available to the retailers after a couple of weeks as Xiaomi would not want to miss on any of the potential customers.
Talking about the specifications of Redmi Note 5, the recent leaks and reports suggest that the smartphone will be sporting the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset which is a very powerful processor with Kryo 260 CPU and supports link speeds upto 600Mbps. Qualcomm also boasts of longer battery life with this chipset and paired with the massive 4100mah battery of the Redmi Note 5, you can easily expect it to last for the entire day or even more with normal usage.
The Redmi Note 5 will be available in two different variants, one with 3GB Ram and 32GB storage and other with 4GB Ram and 64GB of storage. The good part here though is that both the variants will have the same chipset. Some recent reports suggest that the note 5 will sport a 5.99 inch, 18:9 aspect ration FHD+ (2160x1080) high resolution IPS panel screen which will essentially provide some pretty good viewing angles. Also, the smartphone is expected to be running on MIUI 9 which is based on Android Oreo (8.0).

Redmi Note 5 is reported to sport a 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup. The 16MP shooter is the primary sensor while the 5MP is the secondary telephoto lens for all those fancy portrait shots and depth of field effects. The front camera will be a 8MP shooter which will support 1080p video recording. The fingerprint sensor is placed right below the camera setup at the back of the phone.
The final verdict for Redmi Note 5 will come when the device will be available but as of now the device seems to completely justify (on paper) the Xiaomi's self given tag of the all-rounder smartphone. We will be posting a complete review once the device is available for testing. So stay tuned till then and also tell us your thoughts on Redmi Note 5 in the comments.
