IPhone X - Worth it?

Apple recently launched their new flagship device the IPHONE X and this was their attempt to step into the currently trending NO-BEZEL GAME.
Yes, there are almost no bezels around the screen and there is no Home button too. And similar to the 3.5mm audio jack that Apple has ditched in the iphone 7 this time Apple has banished Touch ID from this model in favor of facial recognition.
No HOME BUTTON?
There is no home button in the new iphone. But how can Apple remove that single button that we all have used over the years to perform daily tasks like ummm.........getting back to home screen, lol. But seriously this ain't a joke. Ditching that home button and forcing users to use gestures which have their own learning curve is something most users would not appreciate, but nevertheless it's Apple and we still expect long queues outside the stores.
Lets talk about the Face ID
First, I would like to make it clear for those who don't know that all the hype over this so called new Face ID feature. This is not a new feature in the smartphone ecosystem, it has been present since the time when android 4.0 (Ice-cream Sandwich) was available in android smartphones.
Then why is there so much hype about it?
Well, Apple did certainly do some cool stuff for improving this. They have added a whole bunch of sensors just to make it more accurate irrespective of lighting conditions and other natural phenomenas like growing a beard etc.
Yes, it does work in all these cases if we trust Apple's claims. But that has to be tested and will be more clear after some real life usage statistics by users worldwide.

The Screen
This is the segment where Apple clearly nailed it this time. Apple bought the best screens from the best smartphone screen manufacturer SAMSUNG and tweaked it to give users the best smartphone screen experience ever. This is the first Apple device to feature an OLED display. Apple clearly wins this one hands down.

But wait!!!
There's a notch at the top!!! Yes, there is a notch at the top of the screen but that is necessary if you want a perfectly placed front camera, a proximity sensor and whatever sensor you are used to.
It does feel a little bit odd (even more, though) but I'm sure with prolonged use users will get used to it.

Verdict
So yeah Apple did a great attempt to step into this new game of bezelless smartphones but what they ask you to pay for this is $999!! This just makes this phone a phone which can't be afforded let alone recommended. But there rich people out there with lots of money to waste so go ahead and buy it.
For others who wish to invest in a more sensible manner, I would recommend you to go with the Oneplus 5T or Samsung Galaxy S8.
