A Complete Bezel less smartphone!

Do you hate that notch on your new smartphone? We know deep inside you do! But what else you can do rather than just facing the cruel reality that no matter what you think you'll have to accept that it is the only solution that we currently have to reach that close to 100% bezel less smartphone dream of yours.

Different manufacturers have tried different versions of the notch ranging from the big iPhone style notch or a smaller than iPhone style notch to a very tiny dew drop or water drop notch as they like to call it to the most ugly looking one of the lot, the Pixel 3XL big face notch. All this to get as close to the complete bezel less smartphone design as possible.

But, there is one manufacturer that doesn't believe in this idea of notches over the top of the screen to house the necessary sensors like Proximity sensor, light sensor, the most loved selfie camera and other not so mainstream ones like the flood illuminator used by Apple for their infamous FaceID. You might just have guessed it now, as there is only one major smartphone brand that I can recall which has not yet embraced the infamous notch in their smartphones to go close to the complete bezel less smartphone dream.

Yes, that's Samsung! Samsung left everyone stunned when they announced one of the most beautiful smartphone till date the Galaxy S8 (now succeeded by the Galaxy S9) with absolutely zero side bezels. But the device still had some noteworthy top and bottom bezels which are also a part of the latest Galaxy S9/S9+ even if they are slightly thinner than the predecessor. And to shock the world yet again, the smartphone giant has announced some ground breaking tech which will surely make the complete bezel less smartphone dream a reality.

On October 18th, Samsung Display invited about 20 persons and held the "2018 Samsung OLED Forum" at the Shenzhen Marriott Hotel in China where they showcased some exciting technological advancements in they have made in the display segment starting from the in-display fingerprint sensor, an in-display earpiece and an in-display camera. Yes, you read that right! Samsung is now able to produce displays that can go completely transparent if you need to access the camera from beneath the glass panel.

This doesn't necessarily mean that the Galaxy S10 will have an under display camera but this surely makes the way to a complete bezel less smartphone much more clearer and also signifies that the end of the notch era is near. Let us know what are your thoughts on the new innovation by Samsung and do you think that Samsung will be the first to launch the complete bezel less smartphone or it will be someone else maybe Apple?
