Now lets talk about the main highlighting features that you can expect in the latest version of WhatsApp.
One of the major limitations of WhatsApp is that there is no support for video calls and even voice calls in WhatsApp groups. You could only have a voice or video call with a single person at a given time but this might soon be history as WhatsApp is trying a new group video and voice call feature that was first spotted in the beta version 2.18.39 of WhatsApp by tech portal Wabetainfo. Users can see a voice call and video button at the side of the contact name in a group. It gives users the ability to add multiple users to initiate a voice or video call. The maximum number of users supported in a single call is still a mystery.
Group Descriptions
This feature was spotted on the beta version 2.18.54 for the first time by Wabetainfo. According to reports, WhatsApp will soon have an "About Us" section for groups, where any member of the WhatsApp group can add a description of the group. This description can then be seen by any member of the group in the group info option at the top of the group. The group administrator has the right to modify the edit permissions of any member and avoid him/her from changing the group description.

One tap switch between Voice and Video call
WhatsApp is also planning to introduce a button for instant switching of modes during a call. A single tap on the button will help users to switch from a voice call to a video call and vice-versa. The feature was first spotted on beta version 2.18.4. The switching will not have any effect on the call like disconnecting the call or any other effect. A message will be sent to the person on other side of the call and if the person accepts the invitation then the call will be modified to the mode requested by the user.
We look forward to test out these features in the next update of WhatsApp. If you want to get an early hands on experience then you can download the beta version of the app and try them out yourself. Also let us know what new features you expect in WhatsApp in the comment section.
